Behind the Scenes of PaRappa Voice Actor

PaRappa games for Sony Playstation is one of the most beloved and unique video games that I’ve played. With slick beats and sick rhyming, it’s so fun to get into the groove and act like you are the badass rapper you always secretly wanted to be.

Originally released in 1996, the sequel was released in 2001 along with its spin off Um Jammer Lammy. The third one is still missing though, which is creating a burning desire for nostalgic gamers wanting to relive the awesomeness that was Parappa the Rappa.

If you’ve always wanted who the voice of the rapper behind the cutesy PaRappa, look no further. His name is Lukan “Dred Foxx” Outdawzman. An artist from Brooklyn, NY, not only has he done both PaRappa the Rapper games, his talent also was featured in UmJammer Lammy and Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale, which is actually the best of the series in my humble opinion.

There are also key memorable characters that were underrated and here are some of the voice actors that were banging in the gameplay.

Ryu Watabe as Chop Chop Master Onion and Ma-san
Kenya Hathaway as Sunny Funny
Saundra Williams as Instructor Mooselini
Everette Bradley as Paul Chuck
Dean Bowman as Guru Ant

The highly anticipated Parappa the Rapper 3’s launch date remains a mystery but already there is a rumbling amongst the fanbase. DSN interviewed Foxx back in 2012 and revealed his intention to want to voice for Parappa for the third game. Will Sony listen to him and the fanbase? We will have to wait and find out.
